So that's a start for sorting out kua
The Perfect Box could go alongside ka

In fact we could set out some boxes under the heading of:

Ways of marking tense
ka, the inceptive,
kua, the perfect
e the future
e...ana, the present continuous
kei te, another present continuous
i, the past
i te the past continuous

we could even add
hei te, the future continuous

So we could set up a set of Boxes, one for each verbal particle.

Or a set of Mobiles, one for each verbal particle. Each time you pass beneath the mobile make up a sentence for the tense involved.

Or a set of Posters.

Or, in your Diary use the tenses looking forward and looking back..
