Weepu decision predicted by Peter Cleave on Kia Ora FM
The decision to drop Piri Weepu from the All Blacks was consistently predicted on Kia Ora FM during the Super 14.
The matter of playing Weepu at first five for the Hurricanes was described as doing Weepu no good and as a questionable coaching decision both by Colin Coper and the coaches of the All Blacks who seemed to be in on this decision.
Not only was the playing of Weepu a mistake for Piri it wrecked the Wellington backline and did not help Nonu's development.
Generally there was a lot wrong with the Hurricanes including odd performances by loosies Masoe, Collins and So'oialo.
But Weepu in particular was messed aroundduring yhe Super 14 and Peter suggested that this was a very risky scenario
