On the Hurricanes;
1 Davis Smith is not being used properly
2 The use of Piri Weepu as first five eighth has shown that he has the talent for that job but the backline itself is out of sorts and dysfunctional with frustration and ill discipline emerging. Piri going back to halfback seems to make the backline as wooden as before.
3 The loosies are increasingly ineffectual. This is a worry for the All Blacks as well as Jerry Collins, Chris Masoe and Rodney So'oialo are an integral part of Graham Henry's strategy. But the other teams in the Super 14 now seem to have their measure and this includes the South African and Australian teams.
4 Do the coaches know what they are doing with Corey Jane?
5 The attitude throughout the team is negative and sometimes downright sour on the paddock.
Most of this is to do with coaching and it is a mystery that two experienced coaches along with senior players with leadership experience like Rodney and Tana can't get things right...
