November 7 – 14: Whanganui River Week 2010
Here's a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and meet some new people. A huge variety of events and fun activities are on offer, with something for everyone, from lunch time talks and eels at the library, to walks and waka trips.
For example:
The Whanganui River Bike Ride take a joy ride beside the beautiful Whanganui River for 20 km to Papaiti and back
Artful Rubbish Clean up waste on the river, then join Junk and Disorderly to use it for sculptures and wearable art!
Free Screening Of Water Whisperers, an inspirational film about NZers saving the rivers - one stream at a time (projected onto the Town Bridge )

Peter Cleave on guitar and vocals at the London on George Street Palmerston North- Fridays and Saturdays 6- 8.30pm. The London is one of New Zealand's best restaurants. Come and eat. The gig goes into its second month. It started with a show called Peter Cleave aqnd the British Invasion to go with the theme of the London. Beatles, Stones, Van Morrison and the like and it carries on from there.
