I don't know if the South Island guy is a crank. I have heard that while suffering from cancer he left his company in the care of people who were clearly not up to the job. It is however incredulous that this government can find that amount of money to bail out people who were so well off they had money to invest while the people of this country who through no fault of their own end up as beneficiaries are forced to eek out a miserable existence on an inadequate income which is meant to be a safety net but is no longer even that.
