Kiwifruit Update

The kiwifruit bacteria disease PSA has now infected 500 hectares of Bay of Plenty orchards, with "aggressive" efforts under way to try to curb its spread, says Bio-security Minister David Carter.

Last night 13 orchards were confirmed as having the potentially disastrous pathogen, up from eight at the weekend. Sixteen orchards are quarantined, compared to 11 on Sunday.
